William Ellis Rotary Engine

REVOLUTIONARY HYBRID ELECTRIC/FUEL ENGINE

A Veteran owned company poised to revolutionize hybrid fuel/electric engine technology.

Unique patented design, only 3 major moving parts. Each part is engineered to utilize multiple technologies, providing maximum functionality per part.

True rotary design for exceptional efficiency, the moving parts never change direction.

Can run as an electric motor, a fuel driven engine, or BOTH at the SAME TIME for maximum horsepower/torque.

Easy to manufacture, simple to repair.

Will run on almost any fuel (gasoline, hydrogen, LPG, LNG, steam, compressed air, etc.) Zero emissions with some fuels.

Incorporates a fuel engine, electric motor, and generator into one compact package.

Will scale to any size application, can be designed for any horsepower or torque required.

Projected Markets

This engine can replace the majority of engines in use today, providing greater economy, simplicity of manufacturing, and greatly decreased maintenance needs.

Due to the nature of the design it will not run directly on diesel fuel since diesel needs high compression. Diesel could be externally combusted and used to generate steam to drive the engine. Any other fuel that can provide expansion from combustion or other exothermic process can be used, providing exceptional flexibility in fuel use.

One projected use would be to provide power and clean water to areas of the world that lack such infrastructure. Methane generating chambers could be utilized to provide fuel to boil water and utilize the steam to drive the engine.

The steam generated could be re-condensed into usable clean water. The methane chambers would be supplied with any type of organic garbage or sewage, providing a win/win method to both dispose of such materials, and use them to generate power and clean water.

Methane from garbage/sewage/animal droppings is one of the main sources of global warming gasses. It is 4 times worse for the environment than carbon dioxide.

Another bonus of this process would be to provide sterile fertilizer from the residue after the methane has been cooked off, another need in impoverished areas.

Status of the Design

The current prototype is configured to demonstrate the working principles of the engine. The rotor housings and top plates are currently constructed of clear plastic so the moving parts can be seen.

The motivating force is therefore restricted to compressed air.

As you can see from the attached videos, compressed air will maintain rotation, even in this less than optimized first prototype. An actual fuel driven engine, optimized for fuel/electric propulsion, will be next on the agenda.

This will necessitate re-fabricating the rotor housings and top plates from metal, with minor changes in spacing and nozzle aperture, as well as addition and installation of coils, magnets, fuel injection, and control circuits.

The engine is based on tried and proven principles of physics. The revolutionary design is predicated on how these principles are used, having very few parts do multiple jobs, reducing cost of manufacturing and maintenance.

Unlike conventional engines, this design can be made by any competent machine shop, and maintenance can be done with standard tools.

The fact that only three major moving parts comprise the design, compared to over 800 that a conventional engine incorporates, ensures that anyone with even minimal mechanical skills can disassemble, fix, and reassemble this engine.
